New Ideas for Old Buildings

New Ideas For Old Buildings project focuses on improving public property management to help municipalities increase the real estate occupancy by public participation.

The project gathers 7 small and medium sized towns from 6 countries from the Baltic to the Balkans which are facing economic and social decline. They are motivated to find solutions for revitalising their towns and enhance the quality of life.

Kurze Beschreibung: Diese Veranstaltung markierte gleichermaßen den Startschuss für das Projekt New Ideas For Old Buildings. Ziel war es dabei das Kooperationsnetzwerk unter den Partnern zu stärken und Lösungsansätze für die Wiederbelebung leerstehender Gebäude in Ajdovščina zu entwickeln, mit besonderen Fokus auf öffentliche Plätze in der Stadt unter Beteiligung der Bürger*innen in die Entscheidungsprozesse und mithilfe von einem Austausch guter Beispiele, Fachwissen und Sachkunde.

Participation: The event involved 63 citizens, including 43 participants from Slovenia and 20 invited participants.

Short description: The aim of the event was to launch the project, to strengthen the cooperation network and to develop solutions to revitalize empty buildings in Ajdovščina, with special focus on the town square, by involving citizens in the decision-making process and by exchange of good practices, expertise and knowledge.

Kurze Beschreibung: Ziel dieser Veranstaltung war es die Kooperation unter den einzelnen Partnern zu stärken und vertiefen, die Beteiligung von Bürgern*innen in Entscheidungsprozesse über öffentliche Gebäudeverwaltung in Nikšić anzuregen und damit einen Beitrag zur nachhaltigen Stadtentwicklung zu leisten. Im Zuge dessen auch die Möglichkeit zu schaffen konkrete Lösungen für eine bessere Nutzbarkeit von Leerständen im öffentlichen Raum in Montenegro weiterzuentwickeln.

Short description: The aim of the event was to strengthen the cooperation network, to increase public involvement in decision-making on the management of public properties in Nikšić and thereby contribute to sustainable urban development as well as to promote concrete solutions for better use of property in the public domain in Montenegro.

Kurze Beschreibung: Thema und Ziel dieser Veranstaltung war es die Kooperation unter den einzelnen Partnern zu stärken und vertiefen, Lösungen für die Wiederbelebung von Leerständen in Belgrad zu finden, mit besonderen Fokus auf ehemalige Militärgebäude und neue Modelle für städtische Immobilien zu finden, unter der Einbeziehung von Bürgern*innen in die Entscheidungsprozesse und mithilfe eines Austauschs guter Beispiele, Fachwissen und Sachkunde aus dem Partnernetzwerk.

Kurze Beschreibung: Ziel dieser Veranstaltung war es, das Kooperationsnetzwerk zu stärken und Lösungen zur Revitalisierung leerstehender Gebäude in Pula zu entwickeln, mit dem besonderen Fokus auf die temporäre Nutzung und die Rolle der Stadtverwaltung bei der Unterstützung und Bewerbung der Neunutzung leerstehender Gebäude in städtischen Wohngebieten. Dies geschah unter Einbindung von Entscheidungsträgern und durch den Austausch über Best-Practice-Projekte, Expertise und Knowhow.

Short description: The aim of the event was to strengthen the cooperation network and to develop solutions to revitalize empty buildings in Pula, with special focus on the temporary use and role of public administration in supporting and promoting the reuse of vacant buildings and residual urban areas, by involving citizens in the decision-making process and by exchange of good practices, expertise and knowledge.

Kurze Beschreibung: Das Hauptthema dieser Veranstaltung sind Wege und Methoden zu finden, die es ermöglichen eine aktive Beteiligung von Bürgern*innen als verstandenen bottom-up Ansatz in die Verwaltung öffentlicher Gebäude einzubinden. Den Fokus auf eine nachhaltige Stadtentwicklung und dementsprechende Verwaltung leerstehender Gebäude zu lenken und in Verbindung mit bestehenden Modellen des gemeinschaftlichen Lebens und Arbeitens von Geflüchteten und Alteingesessenen zu bringen.

Short description: The aim of the event was to strengthen the cooperation network, to promote participatory and bottom-up approach in public property management and sustainable urban development, with special focus on efficient management of empty buildings in Oberhausen in connection to innovative models of co-working, co-living and co-existing of refugees and locals.

Kurze Beschreibung: Thema und Ziel dieser Veranstaltung war es alle bisherigen Ergebnisse des Projekts zusammenzufassen und weitere Kooperationen im Partnernetzwerk zu vertiefen. Zusammen mit den Partnern des Projekts wurden weiterführende Lösungen entwickelt, um langfristig zu einer Revitalisierung von Leerständen in Maribor beizutragen. Dabei fiel der Fokus besonders auf Pekarna, wo eine bürgerliche Beteiligung an Entscheidungsprozessen , mithilfe von guten Beispielen anderer Partner und deren weitergegebenen Wissen und Erfahrungen entstehen soll.

Short description: The aim of the event was to conclude the NIFOB Project and to strengthen the cooperation network. Together with NIFOB partners we further on discovered and tried to develop solutions to revitalize empty buildings in Maribor, with special focus on Pekarna, by involving citizens in the decision-making process and by exchange of good practices, expertise and knowledge.
