Kein Dröhnen, Zischen, Hämmern, kein Klingeln der Förderkörbe dominieren mehr die akustische Welt des Ruhrgebiets. Wo Stahl gewalzt, Kohle gefördert und Koks gebacken wurde, rollen Skater, jagen Kinder hinter Hunden her, Radler klingeln sich den Weg frei, es wird gepicknickt, geklettert. Und schon sorgen die nächsten Projekte für neue Hoffnungen und Sorgen um den gerade erst neu erfahrenen städtischen Raum.
KlangSchichten Ruhr sammelte einen Sommer lang alte und neue Klänge in Archiven und vor Ort auf Kokerei Hansa in Dortmund, im Duisburger Rheinpark und im Nordsternpark in Gelsenkirchen. Am offenen Mikrophon am "KlangContainer" kamen jene zu Wort, die Teil des Wandel waren und sind und wurden Teil eines Live-Tracks.
Zu hören sind die Live-Schichtungen von O-Tönen, alten und neuen Sound am 28. April im Leerstand im Oberhausener Hbf (Eingang bei den Radstellplätzen). Hier, wo der KlangContainer, das mobile Klangstudio, gestaltet wurde und seine Rundtour durchs Ruhrgebiet begann, bringen Thomas Machoczek und Ioannis Zedamanis noch einmal Aussagen und Klangdokumente zusammen und suchen mit Synthesizern, Samplern und Modular-System nach neuen Formen zwischen Ambient und Experimental, zwischen Dokumentation, Feature und Track - live und spontan, so wie auch die O-Töne vor Ort entstanden sind.
Gezeigt werden außerdem einige der wunderbaren Bilder, die Rebecca Gottschick während des Projekts gemacht hat.
KlangSchichten Ruhr wird dankbar gefördert vom Ministerium für Kultur und Wissenschaft des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen im Rahmen der Neuen Künste Ruhr.

The acoustic world of the Ruhr region is no longer dominated by the roaring, hissing, hammering and ringing of pit cages. Where steel was rolled, coal mined and coke baked, skaters roll, children chase after dogs, cyclists ring their way, people picnic and climb. And the next projects are already giving rise to new hopes and concerns about the newly experienced urban space.
KlangSchichten Ruhr spent a summer collecting old and new sounds in archives and on site at the Hansa coking plant in Dortmund, in Duisburg's Rheinpark and in Nordsternpark in Gelsenkirchen. At the open microphone at the ‘KlangContainer’, those who were and are part of the transformation had their say and became part of a live track.
The live layering of original sounds, old and new sounds can be heard on 28 April in Leerstand at Oberhausen's main station (entrance at the bicycle parking spaces). Here, where the KlangContainer, the mobile sound studio, was created and began its tour through the Ruhr region, Thomas Machoczek and Ioannis Zedamanis will once again bring together statements and sound documents and use synthesizers, samplers and modular systems to search for new forms between ambient and experimental, between documentary, feature and track - live and spontaneously, just as the original sounds were created on site.
