Juni bei kitev – Musik, Kunst und ein bisschen Sprachwissenschaft
Was macht einen guten Sommermonat aus? Bei kitev: eine offene Bühne, kreatives Upcycling, ein Statement im öffentlichen Raum und ein performativer Abend über Sprache und Identität. Der Juni hat für jeden etwas dabei.
Los geht's am Mittwoch, 3. Juni mit dem Saxophon- & Klarinetten-Workshop mit Jonas Winter & Jam-Session im Leerstand (18–22 Uhr). Tagsüber wird gespielt und geprobt, abends öffnet die Bühne für alle – Musiker:innen bekommen ein Freigetränk. Instrumente einpacken und vorbeikommen!
Am Samstag, 6. Juni verwandelt Hülya Özkan im Supermarkt der Ideen Alltagsmüll in Kunst: Der Urban Trash Transformation Workshop (12–17 Uhr) ist ein Upcycling-Art-Workshop für alle, die Lust haben, mit den Händen zu arbeiten und neu zu denken, was als Material gilt. Anmeldung unter info@kitev.de.
Einen besonderen Ort bespielt kitev am Freitag, 12. Juni: Am Museumsbahnsteig (Oberhausen Hbf, Bahnsteig 3/4) findet von 12 bis 16 Uhr der Anti Catcall Tag statt – mit Ausstellung, Performance und Konzert. Die Veranstaltung entsteht in Kooperation mit der Gleichstellungsstelle und bringt ein wichtiges Thema direkt in den öffentlichen Raum.
Den Abschluss macht am Mittwoch, 24. Juni ein ebenso ungewöhnlicher wie schöner Abend im Leerstand: Leonard Schmidt-Dominé präsentiert JKT „Jiddismen – Künstlerische Forschung zu sprachlichen Phänomenen" (18–20 Uhr) – ein performativer Vortrag über jiddische Sprachspuren, die bis heute im Deutschen nachwirken.
Daneben läuft natürlich das wöchentliche Programm weiter: das Community Dinner freitags (gemeinsam kochen ab 17 Uhr, essen ab 19.30 Uhr) und die vielen offenen Sprach-, Yoga- und Frühstücksangebote unter der Woche.

It starts on Wednesday, June 3rd with the Saxophone & Clarinet Workshop with Jonas Winter & Jam Session at Leerstand (6–10 PM). During the day there's playing and rehearsing, in the evening the stage opens up for everyone – musicians get a free drink. Pack your instruments and come by!
On Saturday, June 6th, Hülya Özkan transforms everyday waste into art at Supermarkt der Ideen: the Urban Trash Transformation Workshop (12–5 PM) is an upcycling art workshop for everyone who wants to work with their hands and rethink what counts as material. Registration at info@kitev.de.
kitev takes over a special location on Friday, June 12th: at the Museumsbahnsteig (Oberhausen Hbf, Platform 3/4), the Anti Catcall Day runs from 12 to 4 PM – with exhibition, performance and concert. The event is created in cooperation with the Gleichstellungsstelle (gender equality office) and brings an important topic directly into public space.
The month closes on Wednesday, June 24th with an equally unusual and wonderful evening at Leerstand: Leonard Schmidt-Dominé presents JKT "Yiddishisms – Artistic Research into Linguistic Phenomena" (6–8 PM) – a performative lecture about Yiddish traces in language that continue to resonate in German to this day.
Alongside this, the weekly program continues as usual: the Community Dinner on Fridays (cooking together from 5 PM, eating from 7:30 PM) and the many open language, yoga and breakfast offerings throughout the week.
